12/19/2019 · The Sigma was tested with a Canon which has a 1.6 crop factor. With Nikon's crop factor of 1.5, I imagine Sigma's edge performance will go down even further. 6/5/2007 · Forgetting about whether Ken's reviews are good or bad the NIKON official MTF (only released at 18 and 200mm) confirms this lens has better sharpness wide open compared to any similar aperture Nikon zoom. One of the advantages of DX is that lens aberrations are smaller and need less optical design to correct than 24x36 format. 5/10/2010 · the kit with the 18-105mm is the better deal. the lens is a lot better than the sigma 18-50mm, which i have tried when i got interested with the f/2.8 at the wide end of the lens. it was disappointing. my nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 is a lot brighter, sharper and faster; and better built.
5/21/2016 · Nikon makes (las time I looked) four lenses in the 18-xxx series, 18-55 / 18-105 / 18-140 / 18-200. All are functionally similar. The reviews I've seen plus the DxO data base reports all to be nearly identical in optical performance except that the 18-105 is a smidgen better. 2/19/2017 · I currently have a D5200 with the following Nikon Lenses: 35mm Prime, 18-55 Kit, 55-200 Kit and 200-500 FX. DX kit lens with similar attributes. Ken Rockwell seems to like it, although, again, DX and Canon EF-S lenses are typically not as fast as FX and EF-L lenses. Upgrade from 18-55 Nikon Kit lens - Recommendations?

8/27/2008 · (From Nikon lens literature) The new compact and affordable AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm ƒ/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens continues the tradition of NIKKOR … The push-pull zoom action has allowed me to do some multi-second zoom exposures that are nice (I love doing this with neon signs for some reason). I could never sell this lens, because I couldn''t bear to part with it. With the lens/body Nikon case, I''ve got a great portable rig.
